Artist BIO

Debora Haley

Debora Kielty Haley studied art at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and Otis Art Institute of Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles from which she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts in 1992. She has participated in many fine arts gallery shows throughout the country. Debora has won several awards for her work including the following: National Association of Woman Artists 1st in show and honorable mention, Cornell Art Museum, Delray Beach, FL 1st in show, an international award from the Agora Gallery in New York, New York for most intriguing imagery for her paintings pertaining to the homeless; an award from the Cypress Gallery in Los Angeles, California for the most effective use of mixed media; and Artists Guild awards through the Boca Raton Museum of Art, Artist's Guild group shows. In addition, she was nominated to participate in an exhibit, Whispers to Shouts: Indiana Women Who Create, which took place at the Indiana State Museum.


Debora has also worked as an illustrator and art educator throughout her career. She has produced editorial illustrations for a number of magazines and has also created video cover illustrations. She has produced designs to a company in Beverly Hills for use on women’s accessories. Most designs have been sold throughout the U.S. in large department stores such as Neiman Marcus, I. Magnin, Saks Fifth Avenue, Warner Brother stores and The Mirage in Las Vegas. She has also created commercial illustrations involving NBA, NFL, and


NHL team logos. In addition, she was part owner in an apparel company where she produced over 200 illustrations and designs for organizations such as The American Cancer Society, National Down Syndrome Congress, Autism Society IN, Met Life and Wessler Corporation. Lastly, she has produced a number of commissioned large-scale murals, portraits, landscapes, and other paintings for clients.


Currently, Debora is a Visual Arts Teacher at a private college preparatory high school in Palm Beach County. Also, she continues to work as a freelance illustrator and visual artist that shows in galleries throughout the United States a series of paintings that focus on bringing awareness to endangered and threatened species. In 2023, Debora was juried by professional peers into The National Association of Women Artists, NY, NY.
