Artist BIO
Ruth Sharton
I am a native New Yorker who relocated to Delray Beach Florida in 2016. An accomplished fine arts painter and mixed media artist, I have studied classical drawing and painting, and abstract expressionism. I work in a variety of other mediums including printmaking, photography, filmmaking and jewelry design. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hunter College, NY, and attended the Art Students League of NY under a full 4-year scholarship. I also studied at the Parsons School of Design, the NYU Film Certificate Program, and the School of Visual Arts. I have exhibited my work in solo and group shows throughout the North and Southeast, and my art is displayed in corporate and private collections throughout the US and Canada. Corporate collections include the Intercontinental Hotels, AT&T, The Swiss Bank Corp., The Marriott, McDonalds, and Sullivan & Cromwell. Since moving to Florida, I have exhibited in many venues including Red Dot Miami; DAC Miami; The Box Gallery; Art Ft. Lauderdale; Synergy/Art Palm Beach; the Cornell Museum Delray Beach and ADC Fine Art, Cincinnati.
